The Hardest Part of Bankruptcy – Sometimes it’s Picking up the Phone

We understand having debt problems can be stressful and embarrassing. I often tell people the hardest part is picking up the phone to talk with a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT). So, I thought it might be helpful to outline a few comments I’ve heard over the years, from people who made that phone call, and were thankful they did.

  • “I should have done this years ago!” –  you may find you have more options the sooner you seek help. Consolidation loans may be an option before missed payments start to accumulate. Even if you find a bankruptcy to be your best option, the sooner you start, the sooner it will be removed from your credit. Waiting to file simply prolongs your stress!
  • “You’ve probably heard this a thousand times” – Maybe I have, maybe I haven’t. Either way, it doesn’t matter – your situation is as unique as you are, and I want to hear about it from you. Feel free to tell me anything you feel would help me understand where you are coming from and will assist me in helping you select an option to solve your immediate, and long-term problems.
  • “I’ve made lots of mistakes” – in my opinion, that’s part of being human! We ALL make mistakes, but thankfully most of us are old enough to have done so before the invention of social media! Our consultations are focused on solving your financial problem, however that happened to arise, and to set you on a better path.
  • “I feel SO much better!”- this is my personal favorite! I often hear this as people leave my office, feeling that although they had a problem, they are now on the road to managing their debt, and rebuilding their credit. This sentence is usually followed by a big smile, and a hearty handshake, and a happy sigh. Don’t believe you could feel that way about your debt? Contact us today!
